Truly a man of the woods - in the place that makes him most alive. He is watched over by an all seeing eye and the eyes of the artist.

The caped woman is being watched both by her spirit bird, all seeing eye and her benefactor, which is her guardian and which the guardian of the trees?

The first of this series of "Caped Women in the Woods." I never tire of creating shadows amongst nature. Is the woman watching out for trees, or are the trees protecting the woman? Image: 8” x 10” Frame: 16" x 20" Pastel pencil on Ampersand Pastelbord™

My recurring themes of trees, nature and the ever present mystery and magic lurking among them. This series explores the beauty of nature and trees, the encompassing safety and protection the trees, their trunks and branches bring to those they choose to protect. Let's hope the people amongst the trees are also there to protect nature. Many of these trees are no longer standing, but are preserved here in my renditions and visions from my mind. Enjoy!
