akaJanet Linnstaedter Haynes – complicated name, complicated brain. As I enter the seventh decade of my life I am working ever harder to follow my passion and my dream. I am excited for the challenges presented to me as I continue my journey.
Most of my work comes from the dark-side – I need to let it loose through my artwork. Mystery, fantasy, surrealism . . . it is all there. I love nature, particularly trees, but I find “things” looking at, lurking among, embedded in the trees and the world around them. Is “it” really there, or only in my imagination? Whichever, it comes from my mind – or . . . perhaps . . . “out of my mind.” You will find symbolism, fantasy, darkness, and perhaps more in my work.
But you will also find the lighter moments. Those moments when my mind is at peace – looking for fun and whimsy. Those images may come out as my cat, a special face, or a peaceful landscape . . .
Welcome to my world – explore, enjoy and discover.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
Steve Jobs in a commencement speech at Stanford in 2005
